Brass quintet was conceived through the enthusiasm of five young musicians who at one point or another coincided in the Spanish National Youth Orchestra (JONDE). At present all five live in Mallorca, eager and willing to bring to the attention of audiences everywhere the extensive repertoire available to this kind of formation. In 2003 the group was the highest classified in the classical music category of the circuits of the Spanish National Youth Institute (INJUVE).
5 de Braç have taken part in various festivals in Mallorca (XXVII Music Week, Felanitx; First Music Festival of Santa Margalida), in addition to performing numerous concerts in many of the other towns around the island. As a result of their success in the INJUVE, they undertook a tour of Segovia as part of the 2003 Segovia Festival. In 2004 the group won the Art Jove chamber music prize in Palma. "Una nit de cinema" ("A Night at the Cinema") is the group's first thematic project, with others in preparation.
